No matter what brand of OCB, Air or SF6 Breaker you own POWER TECH can repair or service it. Breakers like any other piece of equipment needs a regular preventive maintenance service. Power outages resulting from transformer failure can be costly. Outdoor Breakers need continuous maintenance due to use and the interruption of faults. Explosive gases can also build up in OCBs which can have disastrous results. Don’t let your expensive electrical equipment deteriorate because of neglect. Problems can be found and fixed with regular inspection and servicing. Below is a summary of what POWER TECH can do for you.
Circuit Breakers Oil:
A. Visual and Mechanical Inspection
- Inspect for physical damage. Compare nameplate data.
- Inspect anchorage, alignment and grounding.
- Perform all mechanical operation and contact alignment tests on both the circuit breaker and it’s operating mechanism in accordance with manufacturer’s instruction.
- Check tightness of bolted bus joints.
B. Electrical Test
- Measure contact resistance.
- Perform breaker travel time test is unit is properly equipped for this test.
- Sample insulating liquid.
- Perform voltage tests on trip and close coils.
- Circuit breaker shall be tripped by operation or each protective device.
- Perform insulation resistance test on each pole to ground.
- Perform D.C. over potential test on each pole to ground and pole to pole.
- Perform power factor tests on each pole and each bushing equipped with power factor taps. Tank loss index shall be determined.
Circuit breakers – Air, Vacuum & SF6:
A. Visual and Mechanical Inspection
- Inspect for physical damage. Compare nameplate data.
- Inspect anchorage, alignment and grounding.
- Perform all mechanical operation and contact alignment tests on both the circuit breaker and it’s operating mechanism in accordance with manufacturer’s instruction.
- Check tightness of bolted bus joints.
- Check alignment for fit in cubicle.
B. Electrical Test
- Measure contact resistance.
- Perform minimum pickup voltage tests on trip and close coils.
- Circuit breaker shall be tripped by operation or each protective device.
- Perform insulation resistance test on each pole to ground, pole to pole and across open pole.
- Perform over potential tests, or power factor test with breaker in the open and closed position. All arc chutes shall be tested for watts loss.
